About Crockett’s Breakfast Camp
Crockett’s Breakfast Camp isn’t just a great place to eat. It also serves as the legacy of its namesake, David C. “Crockett” Maples. He was a soldier, a frontiersman, and a family man who wasn’t afraid to work hard.
Maples served in the Tennessee Cavalry during the Civil War and returned to his home north of Gatlinburg when his service ended. He and his wife Mary began feeding hungry travelers from their supply store at the base of Mount LeConte.
A self-sufficient mountain man, Maples worked on the frontier and maintained an active lifestyle until his death in 1928 at 88 years old.
Today, his wooden statue stands outside Crockett’s Breakfast Camp to symbolize resilience and determination. If you love taking photos, bring your camera to get a shot with Maples’ statue.

Pot Roast Benedict
If you want to start the day with a savory breakfast, the pot roast Benedict will be right up your alley. Tender pot roast is piled atop a biscuit and covered in eggs-over-easy, hollandaise sauce, and sausage gravy. The dish is completed with grits, potatoes, fruit, or candied apples on the side.

This is a Southern staple, and Crockett’s Breakfast Camp does it right with fluffy biscuits topped with a signature sausage gravy. A side of eggs, sausage, or bacon will take this meal over the top.
This breakfast is a sweet way to start the day, and Crockett’s serves warm French toast topped with butter, syrup, and powdered sugar. You can really take things over the top with the addition of fruit or stuffed French toast.
Fried Cinnamon Rolls
This dish is one of Crockett’s Breakfast Camp’s signature items. These rolls are more than big enough to share and are pan-fried until they’re golden brown. Once cooked, they’re covered in caramel sauce and whipped cream. Yum!

Black Bear Camp Skillet
If you come to Crockett’s hungry, a skillet is the perfect meal to satiate your appetite. The restaurant actually offers several breakfast skillets, but the Black Bear Camp Skillet is the most popular.

This place is worth the wait!! They are very busy and have an online wait-list, get on there before heading over. Everything was so delicious. Definitely will return when we visit Gatlinburg TN. The restaurant is decorated, fireplace inside, staff outfits, staff was so nice and they offer a small military discount. We were stuffed and have to return to try more favorites.Samantha S., Google Review
